Ready to take a sip of the Ayahuasca brew?

The Ayahuasca Experience

Since I’ve been preparing all week to experience Ayahuasca for my first time it made sense to write about it and instead of finding a bunch of facts about it I’m just going to download straight to the keyboard.

I’m neutrally stoked after researching for hours and watching a few different documentaries on this medicinal pant medicine that has been tradition for literally thousands of years and passed down through generations in Central America, particularly Peru.

Mother Ayahuasca is apparently a spirit and will kick your ass if that is what is necessary. It goes to your root demons and helps you purge them, to heal your inner soul and free you of that which does not serve you. But it can be an intense, extremely frightening experience because you literally have to face your demons.

Unlike traditional psychedelics like Psylicibin mushrooms and LSD this is an entheogen which according to wikipedia is :

An entheogen (“generating the divine within”) is a chemical substance used in a religious, shamanic, or spiritual context that may be synthesized or obtained from natural species.

So from what I gather this ain’t no acid trip, this a serious spiritual inner journey. Rather than visuals, participants experience visions and their will be significant meaning behind them in addition to serious lessons and healing. But of course at this point I can’t really say as I am an Ayahuasca virgin, but not for long.

Ayahuasca Ceremony

I’m not afraid nor am I excited. I’m pulling all the inner strength I have to be neutral about it. A part of me wants it to be over with already but at the same time that’s not very ‘present moment’ of me.

I’m just going to let it ride. On the day of ceremony it is recommended that I fast the entire time up until the time I drink and I fully intend to. All week I have been eating completely vegan, (Except some blue cheese on my salad today, woops!) and I have been completely sober from all intoxicants… That first doobie is going to really hit the spot. but who knows maybe I’ll decide to give up Marijuana completely like Graham Hancock did after his first dance with Mother Ayahuasca.

Speaking of the man, I highly recommend watching his Censored Ted Talk on this sacred plant medicine. He straight killed it in this Ted talk and it seems someone didnt approve so they removed the video entirley from their Youtube Channel. Fortunatley we the people kick ass and find a way to get that which “they” dont want you to see back online. peep it below 🙂

Pretty dope huh?

I’m going to close with this…

Dimethyltryptamine or DMT is the active ingredient which creates the whole experience. Ingested orally it does nothing, but under the guidance of a true Ayahuasca shaman brewed with the proper plants that contain MAOI inhibitors, the DMT become active when orally ingested.

What I’m getting at is do this with a Shaman that knows what the heck they are doing. I strongly feel this is not something to play around with. This is an inner spiritual journey with the intention of healing your soul. Who knows what kind of karmic baggage you could be carrying around for life times with out any clue.

And last feel it out and be absolutely sure that this is the right time for you to experience Ayahuasca.. Trust me you will know.

For years I turned down DMT, I was never going to do it. I was waiting to experience DMT the way it had been done for centuries with a Shaman in a real Ayauasca ceremony.

Eight years later I was offered DMT and my gut told me it was right, I only took some light hits, I didn’t blast off, but I feel it did prepare me in a way for Ayahuasca or so I hope it did.

The point is, I listened to my heart and followed my intuition and waited for the right time to arrive. and now the right time has arrived for me to experience Ayahuasca. I did not seek it out, it presented itself to me and I knew deep inside that it was time to say yes.

MOther Ayahuasca

So follow your heart and know you are here on a journey of self healing. We are all on this planet to learn something, but it’s an accumulation of experiences that teach us.

Wish me luck.

Thanks for reading! If you have an experience with Ayahuasca you would like to share or have anything to add the comments are below for you to run wild on.

P.S. My buddy Garret made this documentary on Ayahuasca and a whole lot more. It’s a little long but well worth the watch. Enjoy!
